We are a small, family-owned dental practice on Old Forest Road in Lynchburg, led by Dr. David O’Donnell. Our office accepts most major dental insurance plans, offers Saturday hours, and provides same-day emergency appointments. What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your first appointment is built to give us a full picture of your oral health and to give you a clear path forward. Plan on approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Here’s what happens:

  • Welcome and intake. Our team greets you, confirms your information, and reviews any forms you completed in advance.
  • Comprehensive dental exam. Dr. O’Donnell conducts a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, jaw, and bite.
  • Dental X-rays as needed. If you don’t have current X-rays, we take a set on-site to see what an exam alone cannot show.
  • Cleaning (in most cases). Most first visits include a professional cleaning with our dental hygienist.
  • Discussion and plan. Dr. O’Donnell walks through what he found, answers your questions, and recommends next steps. No pressure. No upsell. Your priorities shape the plan.

What to Bring to Your First Appointment

To make your first visit go smoothly, please bring:

  • A photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
  • Your dental insurance card, if you have insurance
  • A list of any current medications and known allergies
  • Any recent X-rays or dental records from a previous dentist, if available
  • A list of any dental concerns or questions you’d like to discuss
  • For patients under 18, a parent or legal guardian

If you don’t have a previous dentist’s records, no problem. We’ll take care of any X-rays we need at the appointment.

  • Monday through Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Some Saturdays: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Friday and Sunday: Closed (call to leave a message for the next business day)

Saturday Appointments and Same-Day Emergency Care

We offer Saturday hours on some Saturdays for patients who can’t make weekday appointments. Saturday availability is limited and books quickly, so call ahead to reserve a time.

For dental emergencies including severe pain, broken teeth, lost fillings or crowns, knocked-out teeth, or other urgent issues, we offer same-day emergency appointments. Please call (434) 385-8888 before coming in so the team can prepare for your arrival. Calling first lets us make sure Dr. O’Donnell is ready to see you and reduces your wait time when you arrive.

Bilingual Dental Care: English and Spanish

Dr. O’Donnell speaks Spanish, and our practice provides dental care in both English and Spanish.
