How often should I visit the dentist?

Insurance and Payment

What insurance do you accept?

We accept most major dental insurance plans. Before your appointment, the team verifies your coverage so you know what’s covered before any work begins. To verify whether we accept your specific insurance, call (434) 385-8888.

Do you accept Medicaid?

Dr. O’Donnell is not a Medicaid provider and cannot see patients insured by Medicaid or Medicaid products. Do I need to call before coming in for a dental emergency?

Yes. Always call (434) 385-8888 before coming in for an emergency. Calling first lets the team prepare for your arrival, make sure Dr. O’Donnell is ready to see you, and reduce your wait time once you get to the office. If you walk in without calling, we may not be able to see you the same day.

Do you see dental emergencies on Saturdays?

We see emergencies during regular office hours, including on some Saturdays when the office is open. For after-hours or Sunday emergencies, please leave a voicemail at (434) 385-8888 and we’ll return your call as soon as possible. For severe pain or injury that cannot wait, seek care at the nearest emergency room.

What counts as a dental emergency?

Common dental emergencies include severe tooth pain, knocked-out teeth, broken or cracked teeth, lost fillings or crowns, swelling or signs of infection, and bleeding that does not stop.
